VIDEO: Amanda Holden may face a large fine after exposing a secret project in her latest clip: “She even ignored their warning…”

Amanda Holden has found herself in trouble with BBC bosses after a recent Instagram post appeared to breach the broadcaster’s strict guidelines.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 54, is known for regularly sharing updates with her fans on social media, offering glimpses into her life, work, and projects.

However, her latest post didn’t sit well with the BBC, leading to a stern warning from the network.

The Social Media Post That Sparked Controversy

Amanda has been actively promoting Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, the popular BBC renovation series she co-hosts with comedian Alan Carr.

In the show, the duo takes on the challenge of revamping homes in Spain, and Amanda has frequently shared behind-the-scenes images from their renovation adventures.

One such photo showed the TV star wearing a blue boilersuit and holding an electric drill—fitting perfectly with her DIY role on the show. However, controversy arose when Amanda posted a separate promotional video for QVC, in which she appeared in the same outfit to promote her interior design brand, BundleBerry.

According to The Daily Mail, the BBC viewed this as a direct violation of its policies, as presenters are prohibited from engaging in promotional work that mimics or replicates their on-air roles.

BBC Steps In With a Warning

The BBC has strict guidelines regarding its presenters’ involvement in commercial advertising, particularly when it overlaps with their roles on the network. The broadcaster’s policy states:

“Actors and artists who perform in BBC output should not appear in promotional work, including advertisements, in a way which mimics or replicates their on-air roles for the BBC.”

After Amanda’s post surfaced, BBC executives swiftly intervened, reminding her of these regulations. A spokesperson for the broadcaster confirmed:

“Amanda has removed her post and has been reminded of her responsibilities, as a BBC presenter, when using social media.”

This isn’t the first time a BBC presenter has been caught in a similar controversy.

Nick Knowles’ BBC Breach Over Cereal Ad

Back in May 2021, DIY expert and DIY SOS host Nick Knowles faced a comparable situation when he appeared in an advertising campaign for Nestlé’s Shreddies. In the commercial, he was dressed in his signature hard hat and tool belt while offering DIY tips to a family—closely resembling his role on the BBC home renovation show.

This breach of BBC guidelines nearly cost Knowles his job, but after discussions with BBC executives, he was allowed to continue presenting DIY SOS on the condition that he would not appear in similar promotional material in the future.

Amanda Holden’s Reaction and Latest Public Appearance

While Amanda has not publicly commented on the BBC’s warning, she swiftly deleted the controversial post from her Instagram account. Despite the setback, she remains as busy as ever.

Earlier this week, she turned heads at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions, stepping out in a striking leopard print suit. Never one to shy away from bold fashion choices, Amanda continues to make headlines for her glamorous style, even if it sometimes sparks debate.

What’s Next for Amanda Holden?

Amanda is set to return to television screens as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, with the highly anticipated new season premiering on Saturday, February 22. ITV has confirmed that the first episode will air at 7 PM on ITV1, STV, and ITVX.

A teaser for the upcoming season promises an exciting lineup of contestants, with co-host Declan Donnelly dramatically announcing, “Please take your seats, the show is about to start.”

Despite the recent controversy, Amanda Holden remains a major force in British television. While the BBC has reminded her of its strict policies, her popularity and career momentum show no signs of slowing down.
