Strictly winner Chris McCausland shocked fans with harsh criticism of the show: “This is the worst show I’ve ever been part of.”

Chris McCausland, the winner of the latest series of *Strictly Come Dancing*,

has opened up about his experience on the popular BBC show, admitting that participating in the competition was one of the most daunting challenges he has ever faced.

Despite the joy and triumph that comes with being crowned the winner, Chris has shared that the journey to the glittering trophy was anything but easy,

and it involved confronting many personal fears and insecurities along the way.

For the comedian and television personality, *Strictly* proved to be a far more emotionally intense experience than he could have anticipated.

Chris, who is known for his stand-up comedy and his witty take on the world as a blind man, initially signed up for the show knowing that it would be a monumental challenge.

Having achieved success in comedy and television over the years, Chris was no stranger to being in the public eye. However, dancing in front of millions of viewers was a completely different experience. For someone who had never danced seriously before, and especially for someone with visual impairment, the stakes felt even higher. He reflected on how overwhelming it felt to step onto the *Strictly* dance floor, aware that his every move would be scrutinized by judges, the live audience, and the millions watching at home.

In a candid interview, Chris explained that his time on *Strictly* was, without a doubt, the scariest thing he had ever done. Unlike his regular comedic performances, where he could control the atmosphere with jokes and humor, the world of ballroom dancing felt completely outside his comfort zone. The pressure was immense, especially since dancing is a highly visual art form, and Chris’s blindness added another layer of difficulty. He acknowledged that it took an enormous amount of courage to even consider stepping into the spotlight and risking failure in such a public way. Yet, despite the fear, he pushed forward, determined to embrace the challenge and give it his best shot.

Reflecting on his emotional journey, Chris described how he often found himself overwhelmed by the complexity of learning dances and memorizing routines. What made it even more challenging was his need to rely heavily on his sense of touch, sound, and the guidance of his professional dance partner, who helped him navigate the intricate steps and routines. Chris’s partner, who was incredibly supportive throughout the process, had to adapt their teaching style to accommodate Chris’s specific needs, which was an entirely new experience for them both. This collaborative effort became a key factor in Chris’s success, as his determination to succeed was matched by the professionalism and patience of his partner.

The mental and emotional toll of the competition became more evident as Chris progressed further into the show. While the judges praised his progress and his ability to bring humor and personality to his dances, Chris often found himself questioning his own abilities and whether he was truly capable of keeping up with the rigorous demands of the competition. He revealed that, despite the positive feedback from the judges and the public, there were moments when he felt unsure of himself and questioned whether he belonged in the same league as the other contestants. The thought of letting down his dance partner or not doing justice to the routine added extra pressure, but he pushed through it with determination.

As the competition went on, the emotional stakes continued to rise. Chris described how his feelings of fear and vulnerability were compounded by the sense of camaraderie that developed between him and his fellow contestants. The *Strictly* family, as he referred to them, became an unexpected source of strength and encouragement. Fellow celebrities in the competition offered their support, and Chris found himself leaning on them for advice and reassurance during difficult times. This sense of solidarity helped him overcome many of the hurdles he faced and gave him the confidence to keep going, even when things seemed difficult.

Despite the immense challenges, Chris’s journey culminated in a joyous and emotional victory. Winning *Strictly Come Dancing* was not only a personal triumph but also a moment of validation for him. It was a testament to his perseverance, his willingness to face his fears head-on, and his ability to embrace the unknown, even when it seemed overwhelming. As he stood in front of the audience with the glitterball trophy in his hands, Chris reflected on how far he had come since that first nerve-wracking step onto the dance floor. The experience, though terrifying at times, had been transformative, helping him grow as a person and showing him that he was capable of more than he had ever imagined.

Chris McCausland’s victory on *Strictly* has become a source of inspiration for many, not just because of his triumph in the competition, but because of the emotional journey he undertook to get there. His honesty about the fear and vulnerability he faced, coupled with his remarkable resilience, has resonated with fans and helped to break down barriers in the world of dance and beyond. It serves as a reminder that even when faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, determination and courage can lead to incredible achievements.
