Sam Thompson shared an emotional moment with his sister, Louise Thompson, on Valentine’s Day as they spent the occasion together to celebrate “a different kind of love.” 

The Made In Chelsea star, who recently split from Zara McDermott, fought back tears while reading a heartfelt message from Louise in her book’s acknowledgments.

Among them was a special page dedicated to Sam, which she invited him to read aloud.

In a video shared online, Louise asked, “You’ve read a little bit of my book. Have you read the acknowledgments? I wrote a thank you to you.” Sam, caught off guard, admitted he hadn’t yet seen the section, making the moment even more emotional.

Sam’s Tearful Reaction to Louise’s Heartfelt Words

As Sam read the passage aloud, he became visibly emotional. The excerpt expressed Louise’s deep gratitude for her brother’s unwavering support, particularly during her health struggles. She wrote,

“My brother Sam, for visiting the hospital so regularly and for bringing your tremendous humor, for distracting me so thoroughly with chat about work and world domination.”

She also acknowledged their special bond, writing,

“For knowing me better than anyone else because we share a mother and a father and a hell of a lot of DNA… Even though our lives have had an interesting interwoven nature over the years, sending us on separate journeys and then bringing us back together, we still share so many silly similarities. We are truly cut from the same cloth.”

As Sam continued reading, his voice wavered. Louise thanked him for always checking in on her during difficult times and for stepping up as the older sibling, despite being the younger one by age.

“I know I’ve always been the boss and controlling one, but I feel very safe and comfortable in your hands. I feel very grateful to be able to pass the baton for you to take the lead. The sky’s the limit.”

Overcome with emotion, Sam hugged Louise tightly, admitting, “Oh, I didn’t even think I was going to cry. I didn’t think I would get upset. Aww mate, that’s so sweet, and I am like your older brother.”

Louise, also teary-eyed, responded, “I know you are. It’s such a relief to have an older brother now.”

Louise has been open about her struggles with severe health complications following the traumatic birth of her son, Leo, in 2021. She suffered from PTSD and postnatal anxiety after nearly losing her life due to serious complications, spending a month in intensive care. She also shared that some of her family members had not yet read her full book, perhaps because parts of it were too painful.
