Maura Higgins’ recent remark about her ex-boyfriend Pete Wicks has resurfaced and gone viral following her headline-making kiss with McFly’s Danny Jones over the weekend.

The former Love Island contestant, 34, was spotted sharing what was described as a ‘drunken kiss’ with Danny at Universal Music’s BRIT Awards afterparty on Saturday night. 

The incident gained even more attention due to the fact that Danny has been married to his wife, Georgia, for over ten years.

As news of the kiss spread, Maura’s previous comments about her ex Pete Wicks, 37, have come back into the spotlight. 

Just last month, it was reported that Maura and Pete had called it quits following a series of disagreements.

Days after their split was made public, Maura had a night out on Valentine’s Day and was approached by a photographer outside Sheesh restaurant in London.

An onlooker described their interaction, saying, “Danny and Maura seemed to be having a great time. They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss. Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages.”

Danny’s wife, Georgia Horsley, has yet to publicly comment on the situation. However, she released a new episode of her podcast, Mum’s The Word, on Monday, in which she focused entirely on parenting, their recent house move, and her trip to Australia to visit Danny while he was competing on I’m A Celebrity. Notably, she made no mention of her husband or the BRITs controversy, though it’s possible that the episode was recorded before the incident took place.

Danny and Georgia have been married since 2014 and share a six-year-old son, Cooper. While Georgia has stayed silent on the matter, speculation is mounting about how the situation will impact their relationship.
