Jay-Z has come forward to address the recent lawsuit filed against him, 

which has since been dismissed. The civil suit, which made shocking allegations involving the rapper and fellow artist Sean “Diddy” Combs, accused them of raping a 13-year-old girl.

The lawsuit, brought forth by attorney Tony Buzbee and a Jane Doe, was filed just days before Jay-Z was set to attend a premiere supporting his daughter Blue Ivy. 

The suit was dismissed last week, and now Jay-Z is speaking out, explaining the emotional distress and damage he claims he suffered because of the allegations.

In a declaration filed in Los Angeles on February 10, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, shared the impact of the lawsuit on his life. 

He claims that attorney Tony Buzbee’s actions caused him unnecessary emotional pain and distress. 

According to Jay-Z, Buzbee’s decision to file the lawsuit and publicly name him was a deliberate attempt to force him into a difficult position, where he had to choose between supporting his daughter or avoiding the damaging press.

The incident occurred in December 2022 when Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé attended the premiere of Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, where their daughter Blue Ivy, aged 13, had a role. The premiere also saw the presence of Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, making it a significant family event. The allegations made by the Jane Doe were filed just a day before the premiere, disrupting the family’s public appearance.

Jay-Z expressed in his declaration that Buzbee’s actions were damaging, saying, “I felt that Mr. Buzbee was placing a gun to my head that I either bow to his demands or endure personal and financial ruin.” He added that the false claims made in the lawsuit caused him to lose business opportunities and contracts, estimating a loss of around $20 million in revenue. The trauma that my wife, children, loved ones and I have endured can never be dismissed.”

The lawsuit accused Jay-Z and Combs of being involved in the alleged rape of the Jane Doe, who claimed the incident occurred during a party in New York City following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The accuser alleged that the event was attended by a famous female celebrity who had witnessed the alleged assault. However, after the case was dismissed, Jay-Z and his legal team stood firm in their belief that the lawsuit was fabricated.
