Jason and Travis Kelce may be two of the most famous brothers in the NFL world,
but before launching their New Heights podcast, they often went months without speaking to each other.
In a recent interview with Bustle, Jason Kelce revealed that the podcast has given him
and his younger brother a reason to connect regularly, something that had been difficult during their busy football careers.
The Podcast That Brought the Kelce Brothers Closer
Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, and Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, have always had a strong brotherly bond.
However, due to their demanding schedules and living in different cities, they often went long stretches without talking.
“The best part of the podcast is just getting to talk to Trav,” Jason shared. “Before we started the podcast, we would go months sometimes without talking to each other.”
Launched in September 2022, New Heights—which is produced by Wondery+—was initially a way for the brothers to discuss football, share personal stories, and engage with fans. But for Jason, the biggest benefit has been reconnecting with Travis on a regular basis.
“The podcast forces us once a week to sit down and talk to each other,” he explained. “We both have a lot going on in our lives, and it’s been fun—after all these years being in different cities and fighting to make it in the football landscape—to rekindle the amount of times that we talk and the closeness that we had growing up.”
Jason’s Role as an Older Brother
While Jason may have more life experience as the older brother, he insists that his role in Travis’s life isn’t about giving advice, but rather being a source of support.
“I try not to be too much of an advice person and more like a support person [for Travis],” Jason said. “If he asks me for stuff or my opinion on whatnot, I’ll be there for him. I’ve never tried to tell him what to do or how to do things. I firmly believe you’ve got to go and learn that stuff for yourself and figure that out.”
Jason’s approach reflects the respect and independence the brothers have fostered over the years. While they are competitive and passionate about football, their relationship is built on mutual admiration rather than one giving direction to the other.
A New Chapter for Jason Kelce
Since retiring from his 13-season career with the Eagles in March 2024, Jason has had more time to devote to family, broadcasting, and of course, New Heights. His retirement marks the end of an era for Philadelphia football fans, but it also means he can dedicate more energy to his post-NFL ventures.
One of those ventures includes his work as an analyst on Monday Night Countdown. Additionally, he continues to embrace his role as Travis’s biggest supporter—even when they find themselves on opposite sides of the field.
A Super Bowl with Mixed Emotions
Jason was in attendance at the 2025 Super Bowl at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where the Eagles faced off against the Chiefs. While he cheered for both teams, the game left him feeling conflicted, as his old teammates took on his younger brother’s squad.
“That game was odd for me to watch if I’m being completely honest,” Jason admitted.
Ultimately, the Eagles secured a dominant 40-22 victory over the Chiefs, leaving Travis and his team heartbroken after their loss. Despite the tough outcome for his brother, Jason remains a steadfast supporter, both on and off the field.
Looking Ahead for the Kelce Brothers
With Jason’s retirement and Travis continuing to thrive in the NFL, the New Heights podcast has become more than just a platform for football discussions—it’s a way for the two to stay connected despite their busy lives.
Whether they’re talking about their careers, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, or simply catching up, one thing is clear: the Kelce brothers’ bond has never been stronger.
Fans can catch New Heights on YouTube and podcast streaming platforms, where Jason and Travis continue to entertain and inspire with their brotherly banter and candid conversations.
