Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo is currently facing significant backlash following a series of allegations about his conduct, which have led to ITV severing all ties with him. 

The network has officially confirmed that it will not work with D’Acampo again, 

with reports suggesting that multiple episodes of his show Gino’s Italy: Secrets of the South have been pulled from airing. 

In addition, the popular game show Family Fortunes, which D’Acampo had been hosting, has been shelved, and no future projects involving him are in the pipeline.

The controversy surrounding D’Acampo erupted after a resurfaced clip from a 2019 appearance on Loose Women ignited public discussion. 

In the video, D’Acampo can be seen acting inappropriately towards the show’s panellists, particularly Janet Street-Porter. 

During the interview, D’Acampo is seen kissing and cuddling the other women on the panel, which led to Street-Porter visibly recoiling and telling him to “get back.” Later in the conversation, D’Acampo posed a sexually explicit question to Coleen Nolan about the “best sex” she had ever had. Nolan responded humorously, saying she couldn’t remember, but the moment highlighted D’Acampo’s tendency to push boundaries with his questioning. When he turned to Street-Porter and asked her the same question, she firmly rejected his inquiry, stating, “I’m not sharing my sexual experiences with you, Gino! You might put it in a recipe book!”

These moments, which were aired in December 2019, have resurfaced amid mounting complaints about D’Acampo’s behavior. ITV staff members have reportedly come forward with allegations that span over a period of 14 years, detailing inappropriate conduct and sexually charged comments made on set. It has also been revealed that at least one production company was aware of concerns raised by crew members regarding D’Acampo’s behavior, further amplifying the situation.

In light of these revelations, ITV announced that it would no longer work with the celebrity chef. The broadcaster confirmed that Family Fortunes, which had featured D’Acampo as the host in 2023, will not be aired, and there are no plans for future collaborations. The decision to cut ties with D’Acampo is part of a larger response to the mounting allegations of misconduct.

D’Acampo, who became a household name with his appearances on This Morning and his various cooking shows, has vehemently denied all allegations. In a statement issued by his legal team, D’Acampo claimed that the recent accusations were unsubstantiated. The statement added that the allegation in question had never been raised until it was brought up by the media, and D’Acampo “does not recall it, nor accept that this happened.” His legal team also expressed that D’Acampo is “horrified” by the accusations and categorically denied any behavior that could be described as “power play” or an “aggressive act.”

D’Acampo’s career on television began when he was just 19 years old, working as a chef before transitioning to the small screen. His engaging presence and culinary expertise earned him a spot on This Morning, where he became a fan favorite due to his playful antics and memorable moments, including his infamous promise to cook in the nude if the show won a National Television Award. The moment, in which he appeared in only an apron, made headlines and earned him further notoriety.

However, the latest controversy casts a shadow over his career. ITV’s decision to sever ties with him follows a growing number of allegations, which now include inappropriate remarks made about fellow presenters and other individuals on set. D’Acampo’s reputation has been further damaged by these reports, and the fallout has extended to his partnerships with other companies, including Meliá Hotels, who may also distance themselves from him in light of the ongoing scandal.
