Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo has strongly denied allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior made by women he worked 

with over a 12-year period in the entertainment industry.

The accusations surfaced in an ITV News investigation, which aired on Thursday, detailing claims that D’Acampo, 48, made explicit sexual remarks to colleagues. 

In one alleged incident, he is accused of telling a female coworker, “I would like to turn you over and f* you up the a** against the kitchen counter.”**

D’Acampo has rejected these claims, calling the allegations “deeply upsetting.”

ITV Responds to Allegations

Following the report, ITV released a statement addressing the situation:

“All of the concerns and complaints raised by those who have spoken to ITN describe behavior which is inappropriate and unacceptable. Most of them were not reported to ITV at the time. Where issues have been raised with ITV, action has been taken.

We can only act where we know that concerns have been raised, and will now be following up on those that had not previously been reported to us.”

This response suggests that ITV was aware of some complaints but is now investigating additional claims that had not been brought to their attention earlier.

Gino D’Acampo’s Career in Television

D’Acampo has been a staple of British television for over two decades. He first gained prominence as a chef on This Morning, where his larger-than-life personality and frequent use of humor and innuendos made him a fan favorite.

Beyond This Morning, D’Acampo has fronted numerous food-related television programs, including Let’s Do Lunch, Gino’s Italian Escape, and Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, alongside Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.

Criminal Conviction for Burglary

In 1998, long before his rise to fame, D’Acampo was convicted of burglary. At the age of 21, while working as a waiter, he broke into the North London home of 1980s pop star Paul Young. Reports at the time stated that he stole more than £4,000 worth of goods, including guitars and a platinum disc.

D’Acampo was caught after forensic analysis linked his DNA to cigarette butts left at the scene. He was sentenced to two years in prison.

When the crime resurfaced during his I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! appearance in 2009, D’Acampo publicly addressed his past, stating:

“It was a very crucial moment in my life. It was about embracing something negative and turning it into something positive. I was a very young boy… you make those mistakes. The secret is to learn and to move on.”

At the time, Paul Young was initially forgiving, stating that D’Acampo had apologized and that he had recovered most of his belongings. However, in 2019, Young revealed that his feelings had changed over time, especially following the loss of his wife, Stacey.

“When Stacey went, there were certain bits of music I never got back… and that hurt me.”

In 2023, a Freedom of Information request revealed that Liverpool City Council’s Food Standards Agency had given the restaurant a poor hygiene rating. Inspectors noted multiple violations, including expired food items and unsanitary kitchen conditions.

“Although you have a food safety management system in place, it became clear at the time of inspection that some of your procedures were not being followed in practice.”
