Recent reports suggest that Angelina Jolie is experiencing challenges as her children, 

whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, assert their independence in ways that diverge from her expectations.

According to a source cited by RadarOnline.com, Jolie has long envisioned establishing a family compound overseas, desiring her six children to join her in this endeavor. 

However, as they mature, the children have developed their own aspirations, many of which are rooted in the United States. 

The source noted, “The idea of abandoning all the opportunities in L.A. 

to live overseas just isn’t appealing to them, and it’s causing serious tension.” 

This divergence has reportedly led to disagreements between Jolie and her children, as they prioritize their individual goals over their mother’s longstanding dream. 

In addition to differing views on relocation, some of the children have taken steps to distance themselves from their father, Brad Pitt. Notably, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie, formally dropping “Pitt” from her surname. This decision was made public through a legal notice in the Los Angeles Times, adhering to California’s legal requirements for name changes. Shiloh filed the petition on her 18th birthday, indicating a desire to establish her own identity separate from her father’s. 

Other siblings have exhibited similar actions. Zahara, for instance, introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during an Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College, omitting her father’s surname. Vivienne also used “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for the Broadway adaptation of “The Outsiders,” where she worked as an assistant alongside her mother. These choices reflect a broader trend among the Jolie-Pitt children to define their identities independently. 

These developments have been challenging for Pitt, who reportedly finds the distancing actions of his children deeply upsetting. A source shared, “The reminders that he’s lost his children is, of course, not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”
