Katie Price erupts in fury as she reveals why her disabled son Harvey was KICKED OUT of his “care home”: “He did absolutely nothing wrong…”

Katie Price has opened up about a heartbreaking challenge in her life—finding a new care home for her son, Harvey.

The 46-year-old former glamour model revealed on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, that Harvey, 22,

has been removed from his current residential care home after management changes led to the decision that they could no longer accommodate his needs.

A Difficult Transition for Harvey

Harvey, who is blind, autistic, and has septo-optic dysplasia and Prader-Willi syndrome, had been preparing to transition to a new care home in just over a month.

However, Price explained that due to the change in management at his current residence, he was unexpectedly deemed too difficult for them to continue supporting.

“They’ve changed management and said they won’t be able to cater for Harv because he’s too difficult,” she explained. “So now I’ve got to find another placement for him… more drama to deal with.”

The news has come as a major setback for Price, who has spent months working on the arrangements for Harvey’s care. She also expressed concern over how this abrupt decision would affect her son, who had been counting down the days to his planned move.

The Ongoing Battle for Harvey’s Care

This is not the first time Price has struggled to secure appropriate care for Harvey. Last year, she was forced to withdraw him from the prestigious National Star College in Gloucester, a specialist residential college that had been supporting him. The college, which reportedly cost £350,000 a year, could no longer keep Harvey after West Sussex Council refused to fund his placement.

According to Price, the local authority classified Harvey’s needs as social care rather than healthcare, a decision she strongly disagreed with. She explained that despite his serious medical conditions—including cortisol deficiency, which can trigger life-threatening adrenal crises—the council deemed him ineligible for healthcare funding.

“They think he has no health problems, so they’re not funding him and want him to live in a social care place,” she shared on her podcast in July 2023. “It’s all because of money.”

Although Price appealed the decision with the support of doctors and social workers, she was unable to secure funding for Harvey to remain at National Star College. As a result, she has spent the past several months searching for a suitable alternative—only to now face another unexpected hurdle.

The Stress of Finding a New Placement

With only four weeks to secure a new home for Harvey, Price admitted that the process is overwhelming. She emphasized how much time and effort it takes to arrange proper care for a child with complex needs.

“You want the right thing for your child, and it is a lot of time and effort to go back and do more meetings, more forms,” she explained. “It is very time-consuming because you want the best for your child.”

The reality star, who has always been open about the challenges of raising Harvey, had previously filmed his transition to National Star College in the 2021 BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me. The documentary provided insight into Harvey’s journey toward independence and the emotional toll it took on both mother and son.

Ongoing Health Concerns and Weight Loss Efforts

In addition to the challenges of securing a stable care arrangement, Price has also been addressing Harvey’s ongoing health struggles, particularly his weight. A known symptom of Prader-Willi syndrome is an insatiable appetite, which has contributed to Harvey’s weight reaching 28 stone.

Last month, Price revealed that Harvey had begun taking an Ozempic-style weight loss injection, a decision made after consulting with doctors.

“It’s really, really serious and life-changing for Harvey,” she told The Sun. “He’s at risk of a heart attack, and because of his condition, he’s not getting any smaller.”

She emphasized that despite trying numerous weight loss strategies, nothing had been effective in controlling Harvey’s appetite. Doctors suggested that he may need to remain on the injections for up to two years, with regular monitoring to determine the appropriate dosage.

“The good thing about starting him on the drug is that if it has any effect, you can stop it because you do it weekly,” she said. “We’ve tried food, he’s had dietitians—it’s just the way he is.”

The Absence of Harvey’s Father

Throughout Harvey’s life, Price has been his primary caregiver. His biological father, former Premier League footballer Dwight Yorke, has had little involvement.

Price has previously stated that Yorke denied paternity until a DNA test confirmed he was Harvey’s father. Since then, his interactions with his son have been minimal.

“I think he’s seen Harvey about nine times in his life,” Price once claimed. “The door is always open, always.”

Despite the challenges she faces, Price remains committed to ensuring Harvey receives the best care possible. Now, with just weeks to find a new placement, she is once again fighting to secure a future that meets her son’s unique needs.
