Love Island’s Jessie and Will Share Key Advice for New Couples Adjusting to Life After the Villa
With Love Island: All Stars wrapping up and its contestants stepping into the real world, many fans are wondering whether their favorite couples will stand the test of time.
Former islanders Jessie Wynter and Will Young, who formed a strong bond on the show in 2023, have shared their wisdom on navigating relationships post-villa.
Keeping the Focus on Each Other
As the finalists leave the Love Island bubble, they will be met with a whirlwind of glitzy events, social media buzz, and public scrutiny.
Jessie warns new couples to be mindful of the sudden attention and prioritize their bond over external pressures.
“I think when they come off, they need to remember that all eyes are on them,” Jessie shared.
“When you enter the spotlight, a lot of people are watching your relationship and everything that happened in the villa. But the most important thing is to focus on each other.”
She advised couples to tune out outside opinions and concentrate on how they feel about one another. “Stop worrying about what others are saying and just focus on your relationship. That’s the best way to grow.”
Taking Time to Build a Solid Foundation
Will echoed Jessie’s sentiments, revealing that they took a step back from the public eye initially to strengthen their relationship. “For the first couple of months, we didn’t go to any events, we didn’t party, we didn’t do anything.”
He explained that new couples need to recognize that their relationship outside the villa will be vastly different from the one they had on the show. “If you want it to work, you have to focus on yourselves outside of the villa because the dynamic changes completely. It’s important to spend quality time together before jumping into the fast-paced lifestyle.”
Jessie added that couples should carefully evaluate their priorities. “You have to decide—do you want to take all these opportunities, or do you believe your relationship is worth making some sacrifices for?”
Success Takes Patience
Using their own journey as an example, Jessie and Will reflected on their decision to prioritize their relationship before embracing public opportunities. “We didn’t do much at the start,” Jessie admitted, “but now, two years later, Will and I are busier than ever. We may have missed out on things in the beginning, but it was worth it because we’re still going strong and now enjoying those opportunities together.”
Embracing Social Media for Authentic Connections
As the new Love Island stars look to build their brands post-show, Will emphasized the importance of Snapchat as a platform for genuine interaction. “If they’re not on Snapchat, they need to be. It’s the happiest platform out there. Jessie and I have both seen how people love authenticity there.”
He explained that Snapchat allows influencers to share unfiltered content, fostering a deeper connection with followers. “They love seeing the real you. It’s the only platform where being imperfect is actually perfect.”
Jessie agreed, highlighting the platform’s benefits for ex-Islanders. “What’s great about Snapchat is that it’s not edited. It’s live, raw, and real. It gives Islanders and creators the chance to communicate directly with people and form a sense of community.”
With the newest Love Island winners, Gabby Allen and Casey O’Gorman, now embarking on their post-show journeys, Jessie and Will’s advice could be crucial in helping them navigate the pressures of fame while maintaining their relationships. By prioritizing their bond, making thoughtful career decisions, and embracing social media wisely, the latest Love Island couples may have a better shot at lasting love beyond the villa.
