The woman who accused Peter Kay of “publicly humiliating” her during his show made a shocking appearance on GMB, presenting evidence that the comedian allegedly intended to assault her afterward, leaving viewers stunned: “Every night, I’m terrified he could show up anywhere…”

A woman removed from a recent Peter Kay performance has spoken publicly about the incident, expressing her humiliation and disappointment.

Myar Curran, the fan at the center of the controversy, appeared on Good Morning Britain after Kay compared her to Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley during the show.

She now says she will never watch the comedian on stage again.

The Incident at Peter Kay’s Manchester Show

The event took place at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday, February 8, during one of Kay’s highly anticipated performances.

The comedian, known for his quick wit and observational humor, reportedly stopped his show after two audience members became disruptive.

One man, who repeatedly shouted “garlic bread” in reference to one of Kay’s famous sketches, was the first to be escorted out.

Shortly after, Myar, who was in the audience with her father, aunt, best friend, and boyfriend, was also removed. She insists she had not been behaving disruptively but had simply stood up and chanted, “We love you, Peter.” However, Kay responded by having her removed and, in the process, made a remark comparing her to soap actress Lisa Riley.

Myar Curran’s Reaction: “I Feel Humiliated”

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Myar shared her disappointment and frustration over the incident. She stated:

“I didn’t mean to cause any harm. I was just showing my love as he kicked someone out, but he obviously didn’t like it. I feel like what I said was not abusive or aggressive—it wasn’t anti-social and I wasn’t drunk. I was just standing up chanting ‘we love you, Peter, we do.’ His reaction has been a bit over the top.”

While Myar admitted she doesn’t want an apology from Kay, she made it clear that she would never attend one of his shows again. She also revealed that the night was meant to be a special occasion, as she had originally planned to attend with her late mother.

“We bought these tickets ages ago and had been waiting years for this. I lost my mum a couple of years ago, and she was supposed to come with us, so this was going to be something really special.”

Peter Kay Defends His Decision to Remove Fans

Following the backlash, Kay issued a statement via Good Morning Britain defending his decision to remove the audience members. He explained that the disruptions had been ongoing since the beginning of the show and that he had attempted to handle the situation humorously. However, when the interruptions persisted into the second half, he turned to the crowd for their opinion.

“I asked the audience around them if they were being bothered by the noise, and they all shouted ‘yes’. When I asked for a show of hands, at least forty people raised theirs. At that point, I had no choice but to take action,” Kay’s statement read.

Regarding the Lisa Riley comment, Kay stated he did not believe it to be offensive:

“The lady who was escorted out did bear a striking resemblance to Lisa Riley, though I don’t see how that’s an insult.”

He also emphasized that removing audience members was a rare action, saying:

“This was only the second and third time I’ve had to ask someone to leave during my 114 shows over the past three years of this tour. As a comedian, you never want to eject anyone, but when repeated disruptions make it impossible to continue, it’s important to consider the experience of the rest of the audience, who have paid to see the show without interruption.”

Myar Curran’s Emotional Response

Despite Kay’s explanation, Myar remains upset over how the situation was handled. She was particularly hurt by the comparison to Lisa Riley, believing it was a comment about her weight.

“I do feel he was on about my weight. I’m self-conscious about that, especially after becoming a mother. To go to a show and feel like you’re being mocked because of your weight—it was just shocking. The whole arena was laughing. I think they thought it was part of the show, but there was a nastiness to his voice.”

She added that the incident left her in tears back at her hotel:

“It felt like he was trying to turn the crowd against me—it just wasn’t nice. My whole family was disgusted by it.”

Lisa Riley Responds: “Draw a Line Under It”

In the midst of the controversy, Lisa Riley herself has spoken out, urging an end to the drama. Posting on Instagram, the Emmerdale star made it clear that she was not offended by Kay’s remark.

“PLEASE 🙏 draw a line under this now. I am not offended, never was offended. I love Peter Kay to pieces. Laughter is my favourite medicine.”

Public Reactions and Debate

The incident has sparked debate among fans and social media users, with opinions divided. Some argue that Kay was within his rights to remove disruptive audience members to ensure a smooth performance. Others sympathize with Myar, believing the comment was unnecessary and humiliating.

As the controversy continues, it remains to be seen whether Peter Kay will address the matter further. For now, Myar has made it clear that, regardless of the comedian’s intentions, she won’t be attending another one of his shows anytime soon.
