Sam Thompson appears to be fully embracing the single life following his split from Zara McDermott, as his recent remarks suggest he’s ready to jump back into the dating scene. 

The Made in Chelsea star made a bold statement during a podcast appearance, hinting that he wouldn’t mind giving Love Island a shot now that he’s unattached.

Sam joined former Love Island contestants Indiyah Polack and Amy Hart on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, 

where the trio discussed the highs and lows of the hit dating show. During their chat, Sam brought up Casa Amor, the infamous twist designed to test relationships in the villa.

“I’ve got a question for both of you then,” he began. “Because I’ve never been in the villa.” He then excitedly added: “Like, I would love to!”

His enthusiastic response seemed to confirm that he’s well and truly moved on from his relationship with Zara. 

Fans were quick to pick up on the subtle shade, given that just months ago, news of their breakup dominated headlines.

“I talk to people about struggling a lot actually. I go to therapy, I’ve been going to therapy for years, I do loads of stuff,” he shared. “For someone like me, it’s really better to talk about how I feel, and I’ll never stop that.”

One of his biggest comforts during challenging moments has been the presence of his sister, Louise Thompson. Sam lives next door to Louise, her fiancé Ryan Libbey, and their son Leo, and he credits their home for providing him with a sense of stability.

“One of my biggest comforts, if I’m ever going through a hard time, is my neighbors next door. I live my life at a very fast pace and there’s a lot going on, so when I go to their place, it’s just such a family unit and it’s a beautiful place to be,” Sam revealed.

He continued, “Louise is running after Leo, my nephew, and Ryan’s running after Louise—it’s all manic madness, but it’s so warm and cozy and lovely. I’m very, very lucky to have my sister as my neighbor, and long may that continue.”
