Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo has found himself at the center of controversy as multiple allegations of “sexually inappropriate” and “intimidating” behavior have surfaced. 

An internal ITV investigation reportedly uncovered claims of “unacceptable,” “distressing,” and “horrendous” conduct spanning over a decade.

The 48-year-old chef, who became a household name through his appearances on popular cooking shows and travel series, 

has firmly denied the allegations, calling them “deeply upsetting.” 

However, despite his denial, ITV has severed ties with him, canceling planned reruns of his programs and scrapping a new series of Family Fortunes, which he was set to host.

Gino’s Fallout with Gordon Ramsay

One of the most notable repercussions of these allegations has been the reported strain on Gino’s relationship with fellow celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The two had worked together on Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip, a series that saw them traveling the world alongside French maître d’hôtel Fred Sirieix. Their on-screen chemistry and humorous antics made them a fan-favorite trio.

However, sources suggest that Gordon had been aware of Gino’s alleged behavior for some time and was “horrified” by what he witnessed. Insiders claim that Ramsay, who is known for his strong moral stance and deep respect for his family, could not overlook the accusations. “Gordon has three daughters and a wife, Tana, whom he absolutely adores. He found the behavior disgusting and wanted to put an end to it,” a source told MailOnline.

Fred Sirieix, the third member of the Road Trip trio, has previously addressed rumors about their friendship, but at the time, he dismissed any suggestion of a fallout. Last year, he and Gino launched their own spin-off show, Gino & Fred’s Emission Impossible, focusing on sustainable living. Fans quickly noticed that Ramsay was absent from the project.

Fred explained that Gordon’s schedule had become too demanding. “He’s extremely busy. He’s opening restaurant after restaurant, and he has two very young children. He just couldn’t make the time,” Fred told The Sun in October.

At that time, Fred maintained that the three remained friends. However, with recent allegations surfacing and Gordon reportedly taking a strong stance against Gino, the dynamic of their relationship may have shifted significantly.

Gino D’Acampo Responds to Allegations

In a statement addressing the allegations, Gino insisted that he had never been made aware of any complaints before and expressed his distress over the situation.

“I have been told by ITN News that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago,” he said. “I have never been made aware of these matters previously, and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone.”

He further defended himself by pointing out that he has worked with over 1,500 people across 80 productions without any previous complaints. “I am a father, husband, and professional. These allegations do not reflect who I am,” he added.

Despite his denial, ITV has opted to distance itself from the chef, signaling the severity of the claims. Some members of past production crews have even alleged that the working environment was so difficult that they required counseling.

The future of Gino D’Acampo’s television career remains uncertain. With ITV dropping his projects and his alleged fallout with Gordon Ramsay, his presence on mainstream television may be significantly diminished.
