Anne Nolan had the entire GMB studio in tears after delivering a heartbreaking message about her late sister Linda: “She didn’t deserve to d.i.e…”

In an emotional appearance on *Good Morning Britain* this week,

Anne Nolan left viewers in tears as she shared a heartfelt tribute to her late sister Linda, who passed away after a long battle with cancer.

The 74-year-old spoke with presenter Susanna Reid and guest host Ed Balls, reflecting on the impact of Linda’s life and the profound loss she and her family have experienced.

Linda Nolan, beloved member of the iconic Nolan Sisters, died on January 15, 2025, at the age of 65.

She had been battling cancer for two decades, and her death came after a particularly tough struggle in recent years.

A funeral was held on February 1, 2025, at St. Paul’s Church in Blackpool, where friends, family, and fans came together to honor her memory.

Anne spoke candidly about the devastating toll cancer has taken on her family, with her sister Bernie Nolan also succumbing to breast cancer in 2013. “I know people say that, but we’re a big family,” Anne said during her *Good Morning Britain* interview. She explained that while their family had endured the hardship of multiple cancer diagnoses, she still felt fortunate in many ways. “There’s eight children, and three of us have had cancer,” Anne shared. “Some families, I know one family, have three daughters, and they’ve all had cancer. If you look at it that way, we’ve been lucky really, I think.”

Anne herself has had her own experience with cancer, having been diagnosed twice – once in 2000 and again in 2020. Despite the hardships, she considers herself fortunate to have survived, sharing a positive outlook on her own journey: “I’ve survived. It has been amazing. I know it was awful for them and the rest of our family, but looking at it from a different point of view, I think we’re lucky, really,” she added.

The conversation took a deeply emotional turn when Anne shared the poem that had been read at Linda’s funeral. The touching verses were a moving tribute to Linda’s life and the legacy she left behind. “Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey has just begun,” Anne began, reading the poignant words aloud. The poem continued:

“Life holds so many facets, this Earth is only one,

Just think of her as resting from the sorrow and tears,

In a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days or years.

Think how she must be wishing that we could know today,

How nothing but our sadness could really pass away.

And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched,

For nothing loved is ever lost.

And she was loved so much.”

As Anne read the emotional lines, the *Good Morning Britain* studio fell silent, with many viewers at home moved to tears. The words beautifully captured the spirit of Linda’s life and the immense love her family and fans had for her. One viewer took to social media, writing, “Beautiful poem read by Anne Nolan. Too sad. God love and keep Linda in perfect peace. RIP xx,” while another commented, “Aww it’s sad listening to this #gmb.”

Linda’s battle with cancer began in 2005, when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. After a successful treatment, she was given the all-clear in 2011. However, the cancer returned in 2017, and despite her strength and resilience, Linda passed away in January.

Anne’s sister Bernie, too, faced her own battle with cancer, first being diagnosed in 2010. Like Linda, she was given the all-clear in 2012, only for the cancer to return in 2013, tragically leading to her passing that year.

The Nolan Sisters, including Coleen, Maureen, Denise, Anne, Linda, and Bernie, first rose to fame in the 1970s with their hit songs such as *I’m In The Mood for Dancing* and *Who’s Gonna Rock You*. Their musical legacy continues to touch the hearts of their fans, with Linda and Bernie’s strength and talent being remembered fondly.

Anne’s emotional interview on *Good Morning Britain* was a powerful reminder of the deep pain that comes with losing a loved one, especially when cancer has been such a significant part of their story. However, her gratitude for the time they spent together and her ability to find positivity amidst the grief serves as a testament to the strength of the Nolan family. Linda’s memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
